Hello everyone, I hope you're all safe and sound. In the next few days I plan to get some delicious recipes posted along with some photos. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I hope you'll be able to try one of the recipes that I'll be posting.
Thanksgiving Day is a holiday celebrated here in the USA on the 4th Thursday of November, this year it will be on the 23rd. Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together and celebrate what they are most thankful for, for what they are blessed by. A large meal that includes in most cases a turkey, stuffing aka: dressing, depending on what part of the country you live, yams, sweet potatoes, turnips, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, vegetables and pumpkin pie, etc., the feast varies by family.
Parades are held in most cities and towns around the country and the biggest parade is televised, it's the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Professional Football is also televised and high school students also play for their schools. The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year, it's the start of the Christmas season. This day worldwide is known as "Black Friday." Retailers offer deep discounts and huge sales on retail items.
Thanksgiving was originally celebrated with the Pilgrims and Native Americans to give thanks for the fall harvest. There's a lot more history and information that you can Google search if you aren't familiar with this holiday.
Have a blessed Sunday!
Peace & Love,
Linda
